Social media is not a guaranteed way of Long Lasting fame but enough to make someone a “HERO” overnight!

We have often heard that sometimes it's the luck that changes life in seconds. Same thing happened in the case of Chai Wala. A few days back, Arshad, the Piyara Chai Wala, now the famous model and probably a celebrity was just a tea seller and it was a matter a day or two, with a single picture of him being posted, he broke down the internet with his charismatic eyes and looks.

Chai Wala having real name Arshad is only 18! He belongs from Mardan, KPK and has 17 siblings. He came to Islamabad at the age of 14 to find work and support his family. Before working at the tea shop, Arshad sold fruits and vegetables and utilized garments at the bug advertise for a considerable length of time. He had been working in the tea stall for months from morning to evening for Rs. 500 a day.

So from where did that fame part come?

It all started when an Islamabad-based freelance photographer, Jiah Ali suddenly captured a photo of this handsome Chai Wala, while he was pouring some tea, and Instagrammed it. The picture broke the internet overnight, with thousands of shares at social media with the hash tag of ChaiWala.

After that, Arshad all of sudden became the center of attention when young men and young ladies began thronging his tea shop to take selfies with him. At first, he thought he'd accomplished something incorrectly. He quit his employment and remained in isolation until companions and relatives let him know that it was his photo that had made him well known.

He got media coverage as well, as our media always need a 'story' to keep them busy! Within no time he got several modeling offers due to his good looks. The Islamabad-based apparel retail site Fitin.pk then reached him for his first demonstrating shoot and he now graces the site's landing page, displaying T-shirts.

Not only that, he hits his first commercial featuring a motorcycle brand.

The stunning part is that Syed Noor has also decided to give him a chance in the industry and would cast him in any upcoming movie however the details are not revealed yet

Reviewing the minute Ms. Ali took his photograph, Arshad says he was serving tea when a lady going by abruptly halted, took a snap and left. He overlooked the occurrence and just understood the photo had made him celebrated when individuals let him know his blue-green eyes were a top inclining subject via web-based networking media.

"My mom regularly used to let me know that one day you will end up being a renowned man. I generally thought it was a desire and that's it. In any case, now I feel it is because of my mom's petitions that I have turned into a model from a tea dealer.", told Arshad in an interview.
However, we need to keep one factor in our minds that fame earned by social media doesn’t necessarily last long. Social media is a nasty business; it can make you an internet sensation, a celebrity overnight on the other hand, it can also ruin your life long earned success and good will within seconds! We have multiple such stories in our industry for example: The Justin girls who at first, became the eye candy of social media but by the passage of time, got vanished. Hardly anybody remembers them now.

We have seen the journey of this lad from being a Chai Wala to now a Fame Wala. It's just the beginning. He has just started his career. We hope he won't be forgotten shortly. We wish him good luck for his future that I am sure he has a really bright one!

ARE WE MAKING A SUICIDAL MEDIA INDUSTRY ?

Media industry was not a common term around fifteen years ago in Pakistan because till that time there was only one television network which was being fully operated by the state government directly and what people knew about the happenings in Pakistan as well as in the world, all came through the Pakistan Television Network. This network sometimes looked bias as they always showed positive side of the running government, in fact everything used to brought on air after proper scrutinization process by the government officials. Then time changed and we should give credit to Gen. (Rtd) Musharaf for bringing change in this field and authorized the licensing of new channels to get aired globally from Pakistan and the main purpose was to show the brighter side of Pakistan to majority and give the confidence to the people of Pakistan for showing their skills and capabilities by utilizing larger platforms. Although an organization named “PEMRA” was established in 2002 which managed and released the code of conduct and ordinance for this media freedom campaign but despite this some leniency have been observed during every government in compliance of this ordinance since the day of its existence.

Initially it was being observed as a positive step but what we are noticing today; it is in fact ruining our country’s image badly, if we see the quantity of channels till now, we will observe that despite having more than 100 channels, we are seriously missing the quality contents, almost every channel is showing the same thing and apart from that, every channel is trying to show something which can raise the rating of their channels instantly without bothering whether their contents are in favor of Pakistan or not, also exaggeration, news breaking without evidence or proper authentication or showing the contents which are exactly against the image of Pakistan’s culture and society, this is seriously annoying those people who never wanted such freedom of media but once we started using this term industry with the media, it seriously became a business and earning criteria has been established based on the hot and spicy news and programmes, point to think is where is PEMRA now, why are they not noticing such activities which is becoming serious day by day ? Let’s show you one example…

An award show was organized by one of the private channel in Dubai and the way it had been presented, it just seemed like a show of our neighbor country. Did they show the Pakistani culture?, below images will clearly get you the answer.

The number of news channels in Pakistan are increasing day by day and it seems like that getting a license for a news channel in Pakistan is just like a piece of cake with the condition of having giant money in your pocket and some better relations with concern authorities. If somewhere in Pakistan, one channel observed the cracker blast, they instantly make it a BREAKING NEWS and within seconds, you can see the same breaking news on almost every news channel and you will feel like that there is nothing happening good in Pakistan.
Numbers of religious channels are also increasing and we are seriously worried now that if this frequency of licensing to different creeds will remain same then one day we might be watching the equal number of religious channels like we are having for news right now and everyone will be showing the image of Islam in his own way and it will really get the world confused what Islam is being preached in Pakistan.

We are seriously missing the channels like DISCOVERY, NAT GEO, ANIMAL PLANET etc, at least someone should take the courage and get the license to show these channels in Pakistan with URDU dubbing.

Our Children are bound to watch CARTOON NETWORK, POGO, NICKELODEON, don’t we observe that our children are being injected with the serious virus of Hindi language and culture through these channels.

Let’s start thinking and open our eyes and ears, do some positive actions in this regard, rather making this industry just a business, let’s make this industry a source to represent a brighter and true image of Pakistan as well as build an energetic , patriotic and passionate nation for the future of Pakistan.

Well-PAID JOBS IN PAKISTAN!

Recently an article published by guardan.co.uk about the WELL PAID JOBS in UK, they have mentioned six jobs along with the complete description and detail. It was quite interesting to know these facts. Though the report was presenting the data of UK based jobs but it really developed our interest to prepare a list of some well-paid professions in Pakistan.

We know that people might get agree or disagree with our findings but we always encourage our readers to come with their criticism or positive feedback. Every opinion will be highly regarded.

1) Charted Accountants- we can keep it on top due to supply and demand issue, normally people feel it super tough so no one takes risk to jump in this field eagerly and those who plunge themselves into the depth of this field and don’t leave it in the middle, are enjoying the handsome amount of salary.

2) Petroleum Engineers – Some Multi National oil companies developed highly paid opportunities for relevant engineers due to the extended field jobs.

3) MBAs from LUMS – All well established National and Multi National companies always prefer MBAs from LUMS for their Marketing, Supply chain, HRM etc. It may be due to not having an equally standard institution that’s why they always keep IBA and LSE graduates as second option. Due to the quality education and having immense confidence in their abilities, LUMS graduates always prefer to get inducted in any company with handsome package.

4) Language expertise (Mainly English or Chinese) – Multipurpose jobs including media, call centers and as a translator etc

5) Teaching expertise at Secondary/Higher secondary/A/O Levels – People who have ability to teach certain science subjects at these levels, they have established academies and earning very well through tuition fee with six to eight hours classes schedule on daily basis through different student groups.

We wish to have this list improved upon your feedback.
